The origins of the adeptus mechanicus date back to before the Imperium. It was born from a cataclysm on Mars due to an internal war. The survivors of this war began to venerate technology because it had become a symbol of life. When the Emperor appeared and conquered Terra (Earth), the latter came to Mars. He found a technoreligious society federated around a cult of the Machine God. The technopriests, upon seeing the Emperor, venerated him as the Omnissiah, an immortal avatar of the Machine God. The Emperor of humanity forged an alliance with the Martian priests: the Mechanicum. However, following the Horus Heresy, reforms were adopted and implemented to avoid any risk of chaotic and xenos corruption.
