The Aliens were so named because the military base on the planet Tyran was the first to be attacked by the swarm. The Aliens travel through the intergalactic void in vast hive fleets. They are made up of millions of living ships, controlled by a single consciousness, the Hive Mind, the "Great Devourer of Worlds."
